United Way Day of Caring brought about an EXCHANGE of ideas and sweat equity for the Boys & Girls Club. Members of the Antietam Exchange Club spent the morning cleaning out a storage area that will be turned into an office area while First Data Merchant Services associates "detailed" three of the Boys & Girls Club vans! Thanks to all who helped out in our community. Boys & Girls Club Earns Top Non-Profit Award
The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County was named the recipient of the Non-Profit Impact Award by the Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 27th, 2008. This marks the second consecutive year the Boys & Girls Club has received the honor. "This is tremendous and shows how important after-school and summer programs are for local children," said Jim Deaner, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club. Deaner accepted the trophy and a $1000.00 check from the Community Foundation at the 9th Annual Washington County Business Awards held at the Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown. The United Way and Leadership Washington County were the other finalists for the award.
